2) Trying to fix it yourself. The problem with this is that you can do an even bigger error with your actions. And if you open the case the warranty goes away. If you do not know what you are doing don’t try this.

3) Using a PS3 repair service through the internet. These websites offer solutions to your problems for around half of the price Sony charges. The PS3 repair prices scale as the problem gets more serious. For example a YLOD fix is 60$. This is the cheapest and safest way to repair your console.

PlayStation 3 won’t load discs:

This problem is caused by a laser failure. This can’t be fixed at home, when this occurs you need to get a PS3 laser replacement. Sony can help you with this problem as well but again, 150$.
